1) Artificial intelligence
In November 2016, Google CEO Sundar Pichai predicted that the coming decade would be about artificial intelligence. This is a big deal, he said at the annual Google Zeitgeist conference. It’s probably one of the most important things humanity has ever done. One of Google’s first forays into AI was an automated email answering service called Smart Reply, which generates short responses to any email you send. It can be used to answer questions, schedule appointments, and make jokes with your friends. And it’s just one example of how artificial intelligence will soon become a regular part of our lives—helping us navigate our calendars and organize our photos, among other tasks—because AI-powered machines are becoming more adept at recognizing patterns than humans ever could be.
2) Virtual reality
Virtual Reality, or VR, is a computer-generated simulation of a three-dimensional environment. The user can interact with this environment and its objects either by using various input devices such as a keyboard and mouse, or through various forms of sensory feedback like sound and haptic feedback. Virtual reality became popular in the early 1990s and has since been used primarily for entertainment experiences. It is predicted to be one of the most popular ways to use computers within the next five years. People are starting to realize that VR can be used for educational purposes, training purposes, and many other applications outside of just entertainment.
3) Augmented reality
Augmented reality (AR) is a key technology for our future. Augmented reality allows us to see additional data and information about our environment by layering it on top of what we can already see. For example, if you’re looking at a restaurant, you can overlay reviews from Yelp or Zagat ratings as well as a map of where the restaurant is located. You can also use AR to communicate with someone who isn’t around you, like your boss at work or your significant other on vacation. Plus, because AR is used to overlay information onto what we already know, it’s easy to use no matter where we are: whether we’re exploring a new city or just running errands around town.

The internet of things is a technology that is already well established. The idea is to use sensors, communications equipment, and computers to connect everyday objects like cars, home appliances, and even clothes with each other.
